DUCATI 1198s

The Future

The Ducati 1198 is a sport bike made by Ducati from 2009 to 2011. For the 2011 model year there were two models: the 1198 and 1198SP (replacing the 1198S).[1] The 1198 shared design elements with its predecessor 1098, but has more power and torque, redesigned wheels, lighter headlights, traction control, and lighter fairings (on the S model), and a few minor paint changes.[2] One carryover from its 998 heritage is the distinctive single-sided swingarm.
[edit]Performance

The 1198/1198 SP makes a manufacturer claimed 170 hp (127 kW), 97.1 lbf·ft (131.6 N·m) torque, and has a dry weight of 173 kg (380 lb).[3] Rear wheel output was tested as 117.75 kilowatts (157.91 hp) @ 9,600 rpm and 90.14 lbf·ft (122.21 N·m) torque at 8,300 rpm, with a wet weight of 200 kg (441 lb).[4] The 1198 R mades a manufacturer claimed 180 hp (134 kW) and 99.1 lbf·ft (134.4 N·m) torque.[5]

DUCATI 848

The Ducati 848 is a sport bike, with a 849 cc (51.8 cu in) V-twin engine, manufactured by Ducati. It was announced on November 6, 2007 for the 2008 model year and replaces the 749, although the 848 model name was already listed on the compatible parts table for the 1098 fuel tank, giving away the secret a few months early. The 848 makes a tested 115.6 hp (86 kW) at 10,000 rpm and 62 lb·ft (84.1 N·m) at 8,250 rpm.[3] With a manufacturer claimed dry weight of 168 kg (370 lb), the 848 undercuts its larger displacement sibling, the 1198, by 5 kg (11 lb).
In August 2010, Ducati announced the 848 Evo, as the evolution of the model. The bike featured small revisions such as a black swingarm, Mono-block Brembo brake calipers, steering damper mount as well as some very minor engine revisions.[5]

DUCATI 1199s Sport Racing

At the time of its release, the Ducati 1199 Panigale was the world's most powerful production twin-cylinder engine with maximum 195 horsepower (145 kW) at 10,750 rpm and 98.1 lb·ft (133.0 N·m) torque at 9000 rpm.[2] With a dry weight of 164 kg (362 lb) (188 kg (414 lb) curb weight)[3], the 1199 has the highest power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios among production motorcycles.[2] The new Superquadro engine is massively oversquare, with a bore:stroke ratio of 1.84:1. Whereas previous Ducatis had belt-driven overhead cams, this engine's valvetrain uses gears and chain. The engine serves as a stressed member, enabling the Panigale to be smaller and lighter than a conventionally-framed motorcycle.
The 1199 is also one of the first production sports motorcycles to feature electronically-adjustable suspension. Rebound and compression damping is adjusted electronically while pre-load is still adjusted manually.[4] The 1199's exhaust system and mufflers are underneath the engine, and not beneath the seat as on previous models, such as the 1198 and 1098.
Motor Cycle News (MCN) reported that all UK-sold Panigales were to be recalled to correct some assembly line faults [5], which included using insufficient Loctite thread-locking fluid on some bolts, and routing some bowden cables so close to the exhaust that there was a fire risk.
